FOR WHOM?

Jerton-Dixon

Jerton was born and raised here in Charlotte. He is a proud West Charlotte alum and
graduate of Winston Salem State University. Jerton’s family remains in the area, and
when he is not working he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. When
Jerton shared the news of his approval for homeownership with his dad, he was happy
and proud of Jerton. This past year has been tough on Jerton’s family with the loss of
two of his grandparents and he wishes they were here to see him achieve such a major
milestone.
Jerton works as a Customer Success Specialist with a local bank. He selected the
property on Remington to be close to family that live near Johnson C. Smith University.
So far Jerton has really enjoyed working sweat equity hours in the ReStore and meeting
a lot of folks in the program. He excited to get started with construction. Fun fact about
Jerton, he is a “PK” more commonly known as a Preacher’s Kid and has a strong faith.
Jerton is looking forward to purchasing his home. The rising cost of rent has made it
difficult for him to save and find the stability he desires. He wants to open a food truck
one day, and hopefully his affordable mortgage will allow him the space to save and
make that dream a reality. He was led to apply with us after encouragement from seeing
friends and family members apply. He loved the idea of being able to help build his own
home and felt that Habitat was the program to do that. He is most looking forward to
having more space, a yard to work in, and a front porch to relax on with friends and
family.
